Ascension Bay's Fisherman Lodge, located in Punta Allen, Mexico, is consistently ranked as one of the best fly fishing lodges in Ascension Bay and the entire Caribean.
Fisherman Lodge is situated in an international wildlife park and UN Heritage Site; know as the Sian Ka'an National Park that spans some 1,300,000 acres of prime fishing flats. Ascension Bay is ranked as one of the finest fly fishing locations in the world for permit, bonefish, snook, and tarpon. The waters offer outstanding fly fishing opportunities in it's pristine flats and mangrove-lined shores.
Whether you are an experienced saltwater fly angler, or just testing your fly fishing skills in saltwater for the first time; all of the guides at Fisherman Lodge are highly skilled, are excellent teachers, and a week with them will take your saltwater fly fishing skills to a new level. Our guides speak excellent English, are patient as Job, are incredible boatsmen, are masters at finding fish on any tide, and are epic casters to a man.

Travel Details
Fly into Cancun Intl. Airport (CUN). There are daily flights from almost anywhere in the world.
Once in Cancun, guests are met by lodge representatives and transferred by private van to the lodge. If your flight arrives before 4:00pm, you may be able to catch our water taxi from Tulum. Either option takes approx three hours and is an easy and compfortable ride.
Accommodations
The nine Grand Slam rooms can accommodate 18 anglers total and are fitted for comfort with air conditioning, ceiling fans, tiled floors, locally made furniture, fly tying table, two beds with firm Sealy mattress, a full library of favorite fishing and nature books, internet service, rod racks, and private full bathroom with hot water, and TV’s with satellite service.
Although the township of Punta Allen tries to generate its own electricity, it has limited service during the day and none at night, our lodge generators provide electricity to clients twenty-four hours a day.
Enjoy the private beach on comfortable, padded, loungers and take advantage of our daily beach side bar and grill for daily specials. Go for a swim in the beautiful Caribbean Ocean at your doorstep and try some snorkeling.
The beautiful, oversized, freshwater pool is a great place to relax after a long day of fishing.
The three co-Head Chefs draw on their vast knowledge of regional favorites. They each add their own flair and individualized touch, without losing the essence of Yucatan cuisine. Dinners are served in the air-conditioned dining room and are always quite the experience. You will start with a regional soup such as Sopa de Lima, Lentejas, or Albondigas. Then enjoy fresh, varied daily entries, like whole grilled snapper, lobster in season, Beef Arrachera, Tamales Rojo, Enchiladas Verde, or Mole de Pollo. Served with fresh vegetables and homemade tortillas.
Fishing Program
In Ascension Bay, Mexico, we fish with two fly fishing guides in every boat. This means that each fly fishing angler will have individual attention from an accomplished fly fishing guide in how to effectively fly fish Ascension Bay. Many fly fishing anglers like to wade for bonefish and permit with one fly fishing guide while the other fly fishing angler and fly fishing guide target tarpon and snook from the boat. Our fly fishing guides know the Ascension Bay area intimately and have been guiding fly fishing anglers for over fifteen years. They are polite, friendly and speak excellent English.
Fishing Days start with coffee at 6:00am, followed by a hearty breakfast at 7:00am. Whenever you are ready to go fishing after breakfast, we will be ready. There is no due date on when you need to return to the lodge. The only caveat is be back for our dinner service! We have a hosted happy hour starting at 4:30pm followed with appitizers at 6:oopm and a full dinner service at 7:oopm. Sleep, eat, fish, and repeat!
All skiffs use water proof UHF radios (that get updates on weather and communicate with home base, your fly fishing guides can communicate when separated during wade fly fishing), life vests and have first aid kits on board.
Pricing 2023
7 nights/6 days fishing: $3,950US per person based on double occupancy
7 nights/6 days fishing: $5,735US based on single occupancy with private room and private skiff.

Included is accommodations and all meals at the lodge, guided fishing, non-alcoholic beverages, guest taxes, fishing licenses, and internet.
Not Included are ground transportation from Cancun, hotels or meals in Cancun, alcoholic beverages, staff and guide gratuities, or laundry service.
